Spotlight – “Kartik Mani”

I’m Kartik. I like things that are built with detail and precision, like the brass of a Leica rangefinder body, or the balance of a Shun blade. My car, and passion, is a German (ROW) spec Carrera 3.2 – a precise and beautifully engineered work of automotive art that combines the fortitude of German engineering with the character of American innovation. Like the love of my life, who shares this cars’ name, this was a deal made on first sight. She looks pretty, but start her up and the vicious rumble of her unusual engine, put to rest any doubt as to her intentions. In the original case and gearbox, is a highly modified twin spark 3.4L engine with 964 cams and a race clutch with a short shift kit. Lazily settling into an idle at 1100 rpm, she seems laid back at first glance, but wake the beast within at 4000 rpm, and the dramatic wail – all the way to the 7000 rpm redline – it is all Ann Williams and Barracuda.
